strategic planning / user behaviour/ethnography

Confirming that you are meeting the end user’s needs

A good understanding of how the end user interacts with, and uses your product, and what motivates them, is fundamental to success.

Ethnography is observational research where you talk to users and watch how they use a product in the place where the product is used. What are the problems with the product, how does the customer get around these, what features does the customer value, how could the product be improved.

Research also considers the different stakeholders, and recognises that they will usually have very different requirements. Which of these should you use to define your product?
